Cashing On Innocence !!!!

So, How did this suddenly turn up.  Then, Akshaya trithiya was a festival day and people donated money or fed poor people. Now, it is a day of spend thrifts buying Gold.  And the reason conveyed by them is that their wealth increases and amount of Gold income increases. This is the most amusing and absurd reason a person can give for buying gold.  

Where this concept suddenly hibernated from is mysterious and when this all started is very easy to answer.  It picked up very recently, if i remember nothing more than 8 years ago when this concept became popular over night.  Is not brainless for people to believe in these things. 

Coming to the chief issue of this post.  I always am interested in the suplementary papers which come along with newspapers. One fine morning a week ago, i just took the newspaper in my hand and found it bulky than the normal. I opened to find inside an annexure with a header AKSHAYA TRITHIYA.. I was Flabbergasted. They normally do this only during New Year and Diwali.  Where did this come in suddenly.? I first felt that it was of no use but then those attractive Jewel designs tempted me to look through(Am another Normal Girl too !!!) I read through to find out that it was the biggest marketing Gimmick which can be played with the public ever.  With the rising price of gold, and recession taking the front seat, Man ! they advertise Gold for 6 whole Sides of a newspaper.  Point number 1: They should be nuts ! or Point Number 2: We, the public should be nuts ! But sometime of reading conveyed what their point was. They were MAKING the public nuts.  What cheek they should have to advertise saying "Buy a Gold Coin and get a Silver Coin of equal weight absolutely free" and "Rs.50 less per gram" and "Free Gold Coins, Free ! Free ! Free !" and top it all "Showroom Opens at  7:30 AM on Akshaya Tritiya day" why don't our people ever understand that the marketers are trying to make a fool of us to gain profit for themselves.   

Apart from these worthless, meaningless advertisements are newspaper notifications saying Police have setup parking lots and will be actively controlling traffic.  This route has been shifted here and that route there.  Come on guys! Are you bonkers, You have nothing to do through the day or what. !!! These shops are Cashing on the innocence of people and their superstition. When do we realize that we are being used as pawns on a chess board for them to save their King position. This also makes people who are facing financial problems follow this superstition this increasing their problems.    

To my readers who are reading this. If you want to invest on something on this day, invest on Goodwill. Try Making a persons one day meal or a child's education or donate money or give away old clothes. Make a deprived persons day rather than making your neck beautiful for a party.
