Pandora !! Eywa !! I SEE YOU !!

Heyi,

Its about a really rocking 2 and a half an hour experience which triggered me to write here. Before that.. Hope all of you out there had a great Christmas.

On Wednesday night, pressurized by my brother, I stepped out of the house really tired, worn out and sleepy out for a movie Avatar. I did wanna see that movie but not at the end of a slashing weekday. I removed my contact lenses and changed to my glasses. To my dismay, my bro tells me in the car that am supposed to wear a 3D glass. Normally I leave with contact lens but this day I very specially wore glasses. Reached there, mentally making up my mind to wear two glasses, one on top of the other and saying a silent prayer that it should fit and i shouldn sleep either.

Getting into the theatre INOX was a Herculean task. Getting the car valet parked, controlling my dads temper(for a change, not mine this time), getting the net tickets printed, entering only through one gate, moving one by one, stand in queue for the 3D glass, and get into the theatre one after the other. Such a mess. Nothing beats Satyam Multiplex.

I went in. Loads of expectations and excitement(Courtesy : Adithya(my bro)). His energy levels are really contagious. He has taken after me in that aspect. So, finally the movie started.

The hero was this really smart guy with broken legs though. That din bother me. Slowly I started getting into the movie and then into the most awaited PANDORA. For the benefit of those who haven watched, its a really small planet where the other planets are visible in the skyline. This planet Pandora has living beings who look almost human, with a few deviations though, standing 10 feet tall with an amazing flexible body. This movie is dates way ahead in 2154(jus imagine, we are talkin bout 2012 worlds end), where Humans find their way upto Pandora for its rich minerals. They have put up a research center, where they have DNA merged bodies resembling that of the Na'vi(the natives of Pandora). Technology is used to merge the nervous system of the human body to that of the MADE Na'vi bodies to explore Pandora. Its like controlling a remote body from your brain here. Thus begins the story.

Am not telling anythin more here bout the story line cause its best left unsaid and its for you to watch this amazing Screenplay with a fresh mind.

Pandora comes as a pleasant surprise. It is one of the most beautiful place which i might never get to see. The amount of imagination gone into the beauty of that place, its creations and the things which happen there make you wonder if James Cameroon visited GOD for an appointment to discuss World Designing. Even the small small things such as lights glowing on the ground when they keep every step, the places they sleep, the connections they make which the end of their pigtails and the animal tails make it feel magical. Few of the cute places were the Tree of Voices, Tree of Souls and their parent tree. Everything being connected and everythin working in harmony makes you fall for that place. We live in the enerdy borrowed from nature and nothin is permanent is stressed throughout the movie. The Spirit of Eywa, the very name made me feel good. I am jus not able to stop scribbling here as I liked the movie so much. Made me wonder where the Cinema world is heading to when Films like "Avatar" are made just once in a decade, remaining in the best memories forever.

Everythin in this film was worth a mention, music particularly, stirred my heart and made shivers run through my spine. With all these things who would not want to visit the magical Pandora. The importance of Nature conservation is told in one of the best ways.

I very Badly Wanna visit Pandora. Eywa You Hear me ??

Contrast !!!

Been a while since i blogged. Today i get the time to enjoy writing along with the rythm of the rain. I dunno why, but life seems to be the best when it rains.

A week ago...

You feel like having stuff hot and drinking steaming mugs of coffee. There are people who say otherwise. They say life is miserable when it rains and that they are not able to continue with their jobs. The best impact rain has is on school students, that too during exam time. Exams getting postponed excites them. One of the classic examples is my brother who spreads this news of joy to each and every person in his class. He takes full pleasure in making my dad pay the phone bill to do a broadcast of "declared holiday" news.

Today..

A total contrast. Its sunshine. I jus think the weather is kind of fully confused with what to do. Keeps changing drastically on a day to day basis. Today is a Saturday, and am working. Thats sad, is not it... I feel bad to come so far on Saturdays but what do I do. Office cannot be shifted for my own fancies right. Still, apart from work i had a lot of things to do today. A concert, alumni meet, dance classes. But this distance between my home and work makes me handicapped. I cannot do anythin when i think about doing it.. Am I actually making my blog a "Cribbing About Everythin" area. Am stopping here.

On a happier note. Things seem to take a turn in life... I have 3 performances and an invocation dance lined up.. January is gonna be a month of dance. One of my friends is back.. My first training batch is over. Lots other things make me really happy too. This blog is named contrast as i have compared above the weather of yesterday and today.. My life works the same where I crib and the next moment i feel happy.. So.. There is some global warming happening inside me too !!!

Hey. I ve been thinking of a topic to blog on for ages but its never happened.. Bloggers out there.. Pls help me.. Until then......

SPEAK YOUR MIND !!! Guest Post 2

Hi everyone!

It is my turn to disappoint everyone who came here to read a perfectly written article with lots of emotions and elegant words by charming Ms. AJ. 'Post Purchase Dissonance!' That’s not happening this time. You are here to read the words of a very confused and a sluggish big boy. That’s right you are reading an article which was due last week.

I should probably begin by thanking AJ for this opportunity but I am going to save that for the last. Let’s speak about something important. Shall we! Something very critical. Something that defines us. (Yes I know that you have heard about speaking your mindfor a loooong time and from looots of people.) But interestingly enough most of us are not doing a good job at it. Come on let’s be honest about it.

Ok! Let me start. I am really bad at it. More so I did not realize I was not doing it for a long time. I always believed speaking your mind was rude. And that I should never offend anyone, especially friends (Yeah I know am a nice guy :-) ). What I failed see was there is something which I was giving up all the time! My Right! Right to speak! Right to my have my opinion and more so Right to define myself.

Let’s see it in very simply way, things that happen with our friends. How many times did we have to go to a lousy movie just because our so called gang of friends wanted to see ? How many times did we have to do a shitty favor of buying a gift for a friend’s girl friend just because he doesn’t have good taste(well …when it comes to buying for women, who does?) or how may precious minutes in our life have we lost doing something we never wanted to do ? How many opportunities have we missed because at the right time we were not able to say what we wanted to? I could just go on.

I remember when I was in my 1^st year of engineering a very young lecturer put this in a nice way or should I say very understandable words for my age at that time “If you like a girl don’t just stare at her and do favors for her. Tell her how you feel because sooner or later some Shahruk khan will appear out of nowhere and take her away” Sounds lame uh? Maybe! But this statement made a me realize a lot of things at that time. (BTW I did tell her and yet Shahruk khan appeared. That’s a different story)

Never ever worry about hurting your friend by speaking your mind. If you don’t hurt them that once! You’ll end up getting hurt a lot more times. Finding it very difficult to say NO? Go through this article: www.bbc.co.uk/relationships/improving_your_confidence/exercise_mind.shtml. It might help.

Having a different opinion and yet doing quite the opposite, just because you could not speak for some reason, is really like insulting yourself. When you voice your opinion and choices you define yourself, you are letting everybody know what you are, what you want and how you think. When you define yourself, the society aligns itself to accommodate you. I agree there might be some lose in this process but it could not be bigger than losing your identity.

Not just with friends, with your family and especially at your work place. It is always better to let your preferences and choices be known. Voice your concerns! You might not just be doing yourself a favor but also helping out others who are not confident enough to do it on their own. Do not commit to anything you are not comfortable with.

If you observe it closely it all comes down to believing in yourself. You can not define what you are if do not believe you are worth that or if you think what you are defining is not worth enough. We know life is short, let’s not waste it on making everyone happy by suppressing our own interests. You might not get time in life to live like you want and do what you want, if you don’t speak your mind.

And why am I talking about this on AJ’s page??? Let me tell you! I have known AJ for almost 3 years now, sharing a classroom for 2 of it. I have never seen her doing something she did not want to do. I know what all she’s been through and never once have I ever seen her not standing up for what she believed in. That is something I have always admired about her and something which she inspires me with.

@ AJ: Congrats on your 1 year of writing. Keep going! And thank you so much for the opportunity.
