Whats about all this enlightment ? U think i went to Bodh Gaya? Actually No. I went to my native place Kumbakonam. 4 days. what a welcome break it was. i lived in a different world a different life all together.
As all of us have this general opinion as that smaller towns are not as good as the cities. It proves wrong, cause those towns are jus awesome in their own small ways. they can provide somethin special which our cities don provide. Enlightment.. Happiness.. Clarity..
There was a time when my cousin and me used ta visit Kumbakonam every year for our vacation to our granny. Now things have changed where granny stays with us here. This leaves Kumbakonam with jus memories and the house.. But we surely make it a point to be there every year for the Radha Kalyanam festival during pongal season. Lot of bhajana. Lotsa people. they also keep sayin " Yendi, nee Lakshmi Pethi Thaane, Jayaraman Ponnu thaane'(Hey, U r lakshmi's grand daughter right, U r jayaraman's Daughter right) and such things. There is also this special treatment cause u r from Madras.
In this festival Groups comin from different parts of india to sing gods praise and bhajans. They make audience to sing the songswith them. i like this very much. And i have no inhibitions as to nicely sing along with them. Play the jalra(cymbals) and all. i was lovin my life those four days. I felt happy and proud that i had such a native place and relatives ta go back to. I was thoroughly
living each and every moment, until the festival got over with the marriage. Back home were my cousins my niece my aunt and other maamis and lotsa visitors and lot of fun. and not to forget marudhaani(mehendi).
I came back with a really light heart, lots and lots of freshness. So thats where i write this blog enlightened !!!!!
